During my trip to Zambia I was so reminded by the communistic systems around russia. In order to buy something bigger you have to be a Billioniare, Mostly there´s only US dollar excepted. I have seen a UN Jeep, that was used by a guy to drive in this lounge with a girl to have some fun, don´t want to know who paid the bills for the hotel, but I have strong suspicions. And of course the picture of the political leader in every public building. These countries down there are so rich, why don´t they break out, why does our money not help? Why don´t the UN-representatives don´t use the money to change something, instead of bitching around?

I was amazed to read in the July 31st issue of The Herald, the daily propaganda rag in Zimbabwe, that we can dig out our old coins, last used in what feels like the dark and distant past - maybe 2002 - and use them as legal tender on August 1, 2008. Who would have bet hard earned money on this latest twist? It speaks volumes about the farcical situation we find ourselves in.

Now what did I do with that useless change all those years ago?
