[...] I’m in Istanbul this week with my new partner in crime from Kyrgyzstan, Bektour Iskender. Together we’re holding a three-day workshop on digital media production and distribution for affiliates from Internews’ Eurasia program. Bektour was recently in the United States where he took some excellent photos of a protest rally in Los Angeles, New York at dawn, and Old Town in Mexico. While he was in Boston he met up with Ethan, who published a nice post about Bektour’s work. [...]

Thanks! Great missionary work to the less developed world. I wonder if something like Kloop can make it to China and Iran?

Wow, thank you, Ethan! :) I've never read that much good about myself! :) It was definitely nice to meet you in Cambridge.

You exaggerated my activities in some points though: I was not translating your guides by myself, I was organizing a translation (and, to be honest, that was my "unsuccessful" project I told you about, we never printed them), and I did not organize BarCamp in Riga, I just participated.

But I organized our Bishkek BarCamp in 2008. :)

Here is a link to our Kyrgyz BarCamps, which are becoming a regular annual event: http://www.barcamp.kg/
