The IT admins did not voluntarily give up the domain name and are still actively working to get it back. I think they just succeeded a few hours ago. But the content writers voluntarily stopped activity and wrote an elaborate goodbye post. Now that they have the domain back, maybe they'll come back some day. The thing is that you are all right!
